I met Australian Jack Harley on a Global Effective Altruism virtual networking event in March 2021. We started talking about longevity science, and he mentioned that he and Bogdan Dziewierz, a tech entrepreneur from Poland, were planning to launch a wiki focused on the field. The idea was to create a global, non-profit, open platform to collect evidence-based longevity research. Given my interest in longevity, the project immediately appealed to me, and I decided to join the team.
We officially launched the site on December 15, 2021, using MediaWiki software, under the name Longevity Wiki. We built a volunteer team via Discord and secured $10,000 in funding through a Gitcoin grant. This allowed us to hire a part-time lead editor and community manager in June 2022, Andrea Del Carmen Fabregat.
In practice, however, it proved difficult to attract and retain enough qualified writers and scientists to create high-quality longevity content. As a result, the wiki never grew beyond roughly 30 articles. (Topics included Hallmarks of aging, Rapamycin, Metformin, Senolytics, Epigenetic reprogramming, and NAD+). Ultimately, the project could not be sustained, and the Longevity Wiki went offline in 2025.
