In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, climbing gyms in Amsterdam required visitors to reserve time slots in advance to reduce the risk of infection. I noticed there was no clear overview of all climbing gyms in the city, nor a quick way to access their reservation systems.
To solve this, I built a small website that listed all Amsterdam climbing gyms—both as a simple list and on an interactive map—with direct links to each gym’s reservation page. The idea was to let climbers quickly find a nearby gym and, with a single click, land on its reservation page without having to hunt through individual gym websites.
I even registered a dedicated domain for the project (https://climbing.amsterdam). However, because the site saw very little usage, I let the domain expire again in 2022.
